Text Box: But the Tanach is clear that not everyone will rejoice at the salvation brought by the Lordís servant:
Deuteronomy 18:15-16, 18-19 The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die. ... 18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.
Isaiah 29:10-11 For the LORD has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers. 11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, Read this, please. And he says, I cannot, for it is sealed.
Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
Isaiah 6:9-10 And He said, Go, and tell this people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive. 10 Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.
Psalms 89:38-39 - But You have cast off and abhorred, you have been furious with your Messiah. (39) - You have renounced the covenant of your servant; you have profaned his crown [by casting it] to the ground.
Psalms 89:41 - All who pass by the way plunder him; He is a reproach to his neighbors.
Psalms 89:44-45 - You have made his glory cease, And cast his throne down to the ground. 45 - The days of his youth you have shortened; you have covered him with shame. Selah
Isaiah 8:14-16 He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken. 16 Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples.
Psalms 118:22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.
Jeremiah 2:13 For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns--broken cisterns that can hold no water.
Deuteronomy 4:24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:27 And the LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the LORD will drive you.

But God will restore Israel in the Last Days, and all who recognize the Messiah will receive Godís blessings.
Deuteronomy 4:30-31 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice 31 (for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
Zephaniah 3:19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, And gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they were put to shame.
Jeremiah 30:3 For behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah, says the LORD. And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Zechariah 12:3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Zechariah 12:9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Isaiah 52:5 Now therefore, what have I here, says the LORD, That My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them Make them wail, says the LORD, And My name is blasphemed continually every day.
Isaiah 52:6 Therefore My people shall know My name; Therefore they shall know in that day That I am He who speaks: Behold, it is I.
Isaiah 48:16 Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit Have sent Me.
Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
Zechariah 12:11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
Zechariah 13:1 In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.
Zechariah 13:6 And one will say to him, What are these wounds between your arms? Then he will answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-- 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.
Isaiah 55:1-4 Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for [what is] not bread, And your wages for [what] does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat [what is] good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you--The sure mercies of David. 4 Indeed I have given him [as] a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people.
Ezekiel 37:24 24 David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them.
Ezekiel 37:25 25 Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children s children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever.
Ezekiel 37:26 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.
It is clear by the words, promises, and prophesies of the Tanach that the Hope of Israel is in the Lordís redeeming salvation. It is not in what Israel can do for herself. It is not in the people's goodness, righteousness, faithfulness or might. Israel, as is true for all people, has failed to be devoted enough to meet Godís legal standards. Even if they try to outwardly live a perfect life, inwardly, no one does.
Isaiah 55:6-9 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 For My thoughts [are] not your thoughts, Nor [are] your ways My ways, says the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Therefore, the only hope is in the Lordís redeeming, restoring promise of Salvation ( ישׁוּעָֽה) in the Messiah.
Zechariah 6:12-13 Then speak to him [Joshua; ישׁוּעָֽה], saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying: Behold, the Man whose name [is] the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the LORD; 13 Yes, He shall build the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
This Messiah, The Prophet from among the children of Israel, from the tribe of Judah, a direct descendant of King David, will be Godís representative on earth in the restoration, ruling on his eternal throne.
Deuteronomy 18:15-16 The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.
We see that like a mighty warrior (as David was) he will be a hero to the people, sacrificing himself to save them.
Isaiah 49:8 8 Thus says the LORD: In an acceptable time I have heard You, And in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You As a covenant to the people, To restore the earth, To cause them to inherit the desolate heritages.
Psalms 89:19 - Then you spoke in vision to thy holy one, and said, I have laid help upon [one that is] mighty; I have exalted [one] chosen out of the people.
Psalms 89:20 20 I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him
Isaiah 53:6-12 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked--But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. 11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

We also know that the Messiah must come at least 434 years after the order to rebuild Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile, and yet before the Lordís Sanctuary was destroyed:
Daniel 9:24-26 Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. 26 And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary . . .
This prophesy was written while Judah was in exile in Babylon in the 500s BC. The city of Jerusalem and the Lordís Sanctuary had already been destroyed on the 9th of Av. This means that the Messiah had to come before 70AD, when the city and the Lordís Sanctuary was destroyed for the second time. Otherwise, the prophesy does not make sense, or that to be true, Israel again will rebuild the temple, and both again will be destroyed.
Since the Book of Daniel was unquestionably accurate in itís other prophecies about the empires of Greece and Rome, their personalities, and how they would end, the Book of Daniel should be viewed as reliable prophecy about the Messiah. Particularly in light of all the other prophecies about the Messiah. Moreover, the timeline in Daniel suggests that this will occur during the Roman Empire, which has since broken into pieces.
So who is your Hope Israel? Could it be this BRANCH whose name is Joshua; ישׁוּעָֽה ? One Born at the prophesied time, whose lineage is documented as the son of David, Who rode a donkeyís colt into Jerusalem, where he was killed at the Passover to fulfill the sacrificial law, and bear the sins of all?
If so, then this mighty, obedient one will return to Restore Israel for all those who receive Him.
Who is your true Hope, Israel?
